1. What is Protechting?
Protechting is an open innovation program by the companies Fosun, Fidelidade, Hospital da Luz Learning Health, and powered by Beta-i. It focuses in the areas of fintech, healthtech and insurtech and connects the best startups in these areas, with the mentioned relevant partners.
2. What does my Startup have to gain specifically from this program?
- Access to international players in Insurance and Health.
- Access to the program partners’ different geographies.
- Fast forward business bootcamp opportunities with relevant corporates.
- Opportunity to co-develop pilot projects along with partners from all over the world.
- Networking and partnerships with the program’s selected partners.
- Feedback and mentorship from experts in the program’s areas of focus.
3. In which stage should startups be in order to apply?
We’re looking for startups that have at least an MVP, ready to PoC.
4. In what language will the program be conducted?
Protechting’s official language is English. This is an international program, with international partners and looking for worldwide startups.
5. Do you take equity in the participating startups?
Protechting is a pilot-focused program that aims to foster collaboration between startups and corporates, therefore no equity is taken.
6. What are the selection criteria?
The selection process will be managed by Beta-i and a jury from the partners. A team of evaluators will be focusing on your product, team, market, business model, fit with each partner, and will even be counting on their gut feeling and experience from previous Open Innovation programs.
Each track of Protechting assumes a Sustainability mindset, that is present throughout the whole program. Although not mandatory, a sustainability approach could give your application a boost while being evaluated.
7. If my startup is selected, what are the next steps?
If your startup is pre-selected after the online applications (F6S), you’ll be invited to the Online Pitch. Afterward, the selected startups will be invited to take part in the Bootcamp and the startups with the best fit with the partners will move forward to the Piloting Phase.
8. Can I apply with more than one startup?
Yes, definitely. You can apply with as many projects as you believe would fit and benefit from the program. Each startup will require its own application.
